Background

Two teams of young rookies (more or less), looking to get an edge on the other. This is the last match for FIGHTING LOVE!'s Kohei Obata prior to going away to America, in EXODUS Pro-Wrestling...

Match Progression

The first match of the tour started with Ryo Nozawa tying up with Hawaiian prodigy Maleko Momoa, both of whom exhibited quite a bit of aerial acrobatics before Nozawa caught Momoa in a flying headscissors that sent him to his corner, tagging in Obata. Obata made short work of Nozawa, the gymnast barely getting a word in edgewise as Obata made several near-falls.

Nozawa escaped, tagging in Awano. Not really a rookie, as one of the KJPW originals, Awano tried to pull seniority over Obata with a series of chops in the corner, but Obata, in many ways Awano's technical superior, was having none of it, and a series of elbow strikes got Obata away from Awano, and Obata tagged in Hajime Kon. Kon also refused to be intimiated by Awano, getting in a GREAT German Suplex for a near-fall! Awano then tried to shoulder block Kon down, but the big man of FL! refused to fall. In frustration, Awano whipped Kon to the ropes, drop toehold sent Kon down! Awano covered, but nothing doing, kick out after two.

Awano and Kon both tagged out, to Nakao and Momoa, respectively. Nakao tried using some of his judo skills against Momoa, but Momoa was able to hang with it, as he also was skilled in Jeet Kune Do prior to becoming Genji Yamato's student! Momoa DDT'd Nakao to the canvas, and pinned, but Nakao kicked out! Momoa tagged out to Obata, who levelled Nakao with a lariat, before trapping Nakao in his Lock Kohei modified STF! Nakao tried to fight, but in the end could not, submitting, leaving The Prince of Fighting Love! victorious before he begins his brief excursion to America...
