Uchikawa aimed to compete one day in the Olympics, but decided to shift his goal towards Professional Wrestling following the devastating tsunami of 2011. Shinji debuted on KJPW's first card on 01/24/2013 with fellow rookie Tsutomu Nishioka, losing to their seniors Mamoru Sekishima and Tetsuji Kawamura. Uchikawa developed as most rookies do as the months went on. However, Shinji earned a once in a lifetime opportunity to train overseas after winning the all-rookie Burning Spirit Cup on 5/31/2013.

Since going to America, Shinji has grown exponentially as both a person and a pro-wrestler. He has exceeded expectations thus far, and has gained a devout following among hardcore English-speaking fans. While planning on ultimately returning to Japan, Shinji wrestles full-time for EXODUS Pro as a contracted wrestler. He further cemented his place in the company by becoming the group's inaugural Pacific Coast Champion.
