[Results] 2013.04.24 @ Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse

* Keeping to their busy schedule before "THE NEW WORLD" on 4/28, KJPW entered Kanagawa for an enjoyable card. Despite not drawing a full house, the 700+ fans provided a lively atmosphere full of enthusiasm. The show would be headlined by another preliminary skirmish between HEC Heavyweight Champion TAKU and his fated 4/28 challenger -- the "Dream Catcher" Norihiro Akashi. In addition to that, the hype for the HEC Tag Team Title Tournament Finals is on! With the two finalist teams determined, Naoki Fukuda and Riki Ichiro -- the team being dubbed simply FukuRiki by fans -- will face SPIRIT International's #1 and #2, Seiji Ebisawa and Katsumi Gakusha will face off in their own preliminary skirmish -- with Yujiro Higuchi and Sean King joining their sides respectively.

* The night's main event would be yet another fiercely contested showdown between TAKU and Akashi before their 4/28 Title Bout. The two would be joined by juniors Kazuki Sendo and Shino Hiriyama. Akashi reverted to his SPIRIT International attire for the match, leaving his current affiliation in further doubt. Akashi and Shino gelled together as a heel team, showing good teamwork and chemistry. While the SPIRIT Inter team were coheisive in their teamwork, TAKU's game plan was more or less to use Sendo as a weapon several times during the match. One such example saw TAKU pressing Sendo high above his head, before hurling him over the top rope -- onto Akashi and Hiriyama on the hall floor! Sendo and Shino had their fair share of heated encounters as well to continue their budding rivalry. Both men were full of themselves by the end of their fiery encounter. However, Shino -- the veteran, got the better if Sendo after a nasty vertical Brainbuster. That small victory would have to satisfy Shino, as he would eventually find himself sunken by the HEC Heavyweight Champion Himself -- TAKU after his devastating Choujin Bomber sliding lariat.

TAKU and Akashi had the usual post-match back-and-forth banter. Akashi tauntingly told the Kanagawa fans that the next time they return to this area, KJPW would already have a new face -- and Champion.

While losing the main event, SPIRIT International would open strong with a big win in the semi final over the trio of Naoki Fukuda, Riki Ichiro, and Yujiro Higuchi in a preview of 4/28's HEC Tag Team Title Tournament Final. While pulling out the victory in the end, Ebisawa and Gakusha, along with Sean King had a fierce bout with FukuRiki and Higuchi. While Higuchi proved to be an incredibly strong hand, the tricks and teamwork of the less scrupulous SPIRIT International allowed them the win, with Sean King using his SK Driver to keep the "Nagoya Tower" down for good.

Gakusha did his share of antagonizing and taunting during the post match -- namely repeatedly making a "belt" motion around his waist. Backstage, Ebisawa told reporters that he was sure enough of victory that he saw no purpose in taunting them. He praised Ichiro -- and namely Naoki for being top level wrestlers. However, he claimed their inexperience as a team would be their downfall. Gakusha on the other hand continued to trash talk, and showed an interest in challenging Riki Ichiro for his WWA National Heavyweight Title.

* Chikao Kessin and Double Goodwin made for a devastating combination as they faced Masafuji Yoshida and MONSTER HEAD DUO in a hard-hitting six-man tag. Showing rare fire, Yoshida went after Kessin through out the match. While only briefly facing off with the man that is now his enemy, Yoshida looked formidable against Kessin. Mamoru Sekishima and Tetsuji Kawamura of MONSTER HEAD DUO were eager to face the two Goodwin brothers as well. In the end, MHD's Kawamura would find himself briefly isolated. After a lofty set up from James and Jon, Kessin spiked Kawamura with the Sekai Ichi no Backdrop for the victory.

Yoshida tended to Kawamura after the match, which prevented any post-match hostilities. Backstage however, Kessin and Double Goodwin appeared to had hit it off. The three refused comment before walking down the hall. While reporters couldn't pick up the actual conversation, a handshake clearly took place between the three men.

* With 5/31 approaching, Kazuma Fujita continued his regular participation in the third match of the night, as he, Go Taniguchi and rookie Yukio Kisanuki fell to the Kenji Tanamura-led ARMADA faction with Harumi Sakai and Yusaku Kitajima to aid him. Fans were overjoyed to see a revered figure like Fujita wrestling live. Even in front of an audience under 1,000, Fujita gave forth his best effort in exchanges with Tanamura. Bringing fans back to the era of Burning Spirit, Fujita unleashed a violent volley of chops on the Gladiator King. However, Tanamura dished it out to Fujita in return with a Capture Buster! In the end, Tanamura's ward -- the "Ballistics Tiger" Harumi Sakai secured the victory using a high-impact Tiger Driver to flatten the inexperienced Yukio Kisanuki.

Fujita and Tanamura briefly exchanged pleasantries after the match, with Tanamura once again asking Fujita if he had reached a decision on just he would face on 5/31. Fujita smiled, and noted that Tanamura seemed to be more interested in this particular question than he was letting on. "It's a reasonable question, isn't it?" Tanamura replied with some resignation. Taking the gravity of Tanamura's inquiry seriously, Fujita nodded and said he had indeed decided who he wanted to face at the "KANSAI PRO-WRESTLING FESTIVAL 2013" on 5/31... However, he politely asked Tanamura and the fans to wait just a little longer. Tanamura said that was a reasonable request, and said he was patiently await Fujita's reveal.

Daisuke Iwakuma and Kameron Chase -- The Ninth Gate. Dispatched to KJPW through exploiting the flourishing working relationship with their home organization, EXODUS Pro-Wrestling. Proudly representing the faction working to dismantle EXODUS -- LEGION, Iwakuma and Chase faced the "Young KJPW" rookie team of Shinji Uchikawa and Tsutomu Nishioka in the second bout of the night. Clearly, neither Chase or Daisuke took their opponents seriously. However, Uchikawa and Nishioka showed no fear or intimidation in facing the seasoned exports. Uchikawa in particular frustrated Chase with his constant evasions; combined with pesky forearms. The native Japanese -- Daisuke Iwakuma however quickly reassessed the bout, and worked quick to ground Uchikawa's uprising with a HARD kenka kick to the face! After further crushing Uchikawa with an axe kick, Daisuke and Chase pulled out their biggest weapon to put the rookie down with authority, as Iwakuma hoisted Uchikawa up for a Powerbomb -- just in time for Kameron Chase to grab hold of Uchikawa's neck and drive his knees DEEP into the back of Uchikawa -- completing the Apocalypse Now! The move added a shocking and violent exclamation mark to a relatively routine opening bout.

Tsutomu Nishioka, along with other rookies Yutaka Awano and Yukio Kisanuki tried to tend to the hurt Uchikawa -- only to receive blatant kicks to the face from Daisuke... Standing over the fallen rookie's body, Iwakuma's companion, Audrey Lloris handed him a folded cloth -- quickly revealed to be a LEGION flag. Daisuke draped his emblem over Uchikawa's body, before striking the same arched-crucifix pose seen from him and Norihiro Akashi in recent days...
