[Results] 2013.04.25 @ Zepp Sendai

* Traveling north from Kanagawa, the road to "THE NEW WORLD" on 4/28 continued tonight in Miyagi in front of a 70% full house. Despite the event coming short in selling out, the enthusiastic fans provided a lively atmosphere similar to the preceeding night in Kanagawa.

* The main event once again saw the continuing preliminary skirmishes of TAKU and the "Dream Catcher" Norihiro Akashi, leading into their 4/28 HEC Heavyweight Title Match. Like last night, Akashi once again dawned what is being referred to as his "SI-type" costume as he teamed alongside Seiji Ebisawa and Katsumi Gakusha. In fact, the match served as a precursor for the HEC Tag Team Title Tournament Finals, as TAKU had by his side the two men who would face Ebisawa and Gakusha in that 4/28 tournament final, the "Invincible Mastodon" Naoki Fukuda and the "Hot-Tempered Samurai" Riki Ichiro! All six men would work hard to give the fans their money's worth, while still keeping their eyes focused on the victory. In the end, the popular KJPW seikigun team would pull off the win after Fukuda caught Gakusha with the Mastodon Buster to conclude a feverish final moments full of near falls and close calls.

The Seikigun team stood triumphant after the match. TAKU declared that the same would happen at "THE NEW WORLD" on 4/28 in Tokyo. With the HEC Heavyweight Championship firmly in his grasp, TAKU said KJPW was the home of the strongest wrestlers in the world, and promised a crushing defeat over SPIRIT International on 4/28. Smiling from ear-to-ear, the Dream Catcher countered TAKU's appeal by bluntly saying, "...You've already lost." When prompted for an explanation, Akashi hesitated -- before shouting in English, "YOU! ALREADY! LOST! YO!!" before SPIKING the microphone in what is quickly becoming a trademark of the Dream Catcher. After Akashi left towards the back, Seiji Ebisawa half-praised Naoki and Riki for their chemistry as a team. However, reiterating the point he stated yesterday, they were no match for a team of their seasoning and caliber. This naturally set Riki Ichiro off, who lived up to his nickname; forcing Naoki to restrain him.

* In the semi final, Kazuma Fujita continued his march to 5/31 by teaming with Yujiro Higuchi, Go Taniguchi, and Kazuki Sendo in victory over all four members of ARMADA: Kenji Tanamura, Yuichi Miwa, Harumi Sakai, and Yusaku Kitajima in a drawn-out 8-man tag. The crowd was very into the mat exchanges between Fujita and Tanamura. Fujita in particular looked shockingly fluid in trading hold-for-hold with the "Gladiator King" himself. Kazuki Sendo and Yusaku Kitajima largely carried the match with their dueling "high tension" personalities; mixing swift mat work with quick strikes. In the end however, it would be Go Taniguchi using his height and added power to overwhelm Kitajima. Despite putting up a great effort with the use of kicks and slaps, Kitajima found himself draped across Go's shoulders to set up the Fireman's Carry Uranage known as the Tama Tama Drop to pick up the win!

Go seemed to relish the victory afterwards, and declared this to be the start of the "11th Tama Ming Revolution." Whatever that was in reference to, nobody will ever know as upon learning he would be facing SPIRIT International tomorrow in Tochigi, he suddenly became withdrawn, and reluctantly admitted that his revolution might end before it even started. Timing the delivery perfectly, Go earned a big round of laughs. The blatant attempt at comedy earned him a loving SMACK to the back of the head from Kazuma Fujita himself... Repeating much of their dialog from yesterday, Fujita said that he had indeed chosen his opponent for 5/31, but asked for a little more patience. Kenji Tanamura jokingly called Fujita cruel for having a "dirty game plan." Having trouble containing his own chuckles, Fujita coyly told the Gladiator King he didn't know what he was talking about, before excusing himself.

* With days before their singles match, Masafuji Yoshida and Chikao Kessin faced off against each other in a preliminary tag. Due to reshuffling the card when Sumo Brothers Returns was formally disbanded, Kessin found himself teaming with Double Goodwin's more experienced half: James Goodwin Jr. while Yoshida had his former Yoshida Sumo Gym student Tetsuji Kawamura by his side. No longer "Tetsujin," Kawamura fought against Junior early on with a fierce determination we've only recently begun seeing. James was able to quickly get control however, and tag out to Chikao Kessin -- the man now calling himself the "BIG BOSS." Kessin made Tetsuji an example with punishing blows and hard slams -- all while continually staring Yoshida down across the ring. Kessin talked a big game in trying to get Yoshida into the ring... However, when Kawamura was able to make the tag, Kessin tactfully retreated after tagging out to Junior, who did heavy damage with a perfectly timed dropkick to the back of Yoshida's head! However, as he tried to throw a powerful lariat, Yoshida countered with a perfectly timed Uranage! The closing moments saw an overeager Tetsuji try to finish Junior -- only to be caught on the top rope, and driven to the mat from a beautiful Superplex! It was at this time Kessin chose to make his move on Yoshida outside -- leading to a wild brawl between the two. The move was revealed to be a cunning plan, as James easily finished the stunned Kawamura with the Fireman's Carry Bomb made famous by his legendary father, the TERROR RIDE.

After being pulled apart, Yoshida and Kessin traded verbal barbs at one another. In the isleway, Kessin and Goodwin shook hands for all to see -- leading credence to the rumor of an alliance between the BIG BOSS and Double Goodwin...

* Kawamura's determined attitude may have had something to do with the previous match, as his MONSTER HEAD DUO partner, the 198cm "Greco Superman" Mamoru Sekishima earned a singles victory over the raw, inexperienced half of Double Goodwin -- the 207cm, 134kg "BIG" Jon Goodwin. The two had a bout that was nothing short of a brutal clash between Titans. There were no wrist locks, nor any sort of feeling out process as "BIG" Jon simply came out of the corner a freight train full of steam! Refusing to back down, Sekishima met Jon blow for chest-caving  blow. In fact, most of the match was merely them laying heavy shot after heavy shot into the other. It wasn't until the five minute mark that Mamoru used his bread and butter by gripping hold of Jon's waist. Showing amazing power, Mamoru lifted "BIG" Jon off his feet... After pausing in mid-lift, Sekishima followed through with the Greco Throw! While Jon would land a few more hard shots, he would finally be silenced with a JAW-CRUSHING knee to the face -- which followed a knee to the back of the head nearly as strong!

* Tonight's stop in Sendai marked the only inter-mingling between the two common threads tying the Dream Catcher together: SPIRIT International and the faction known largely to EXODUS Pro-Wrestling fans as LEGION, as SPIRIT Inter's Shino Hiriyama found himself alongside Daisuke Iwakuma and Kameron Chase -- the Ninth Gate. Leaving off somewhat from yesterday in Kanagawa, the three faced Shinji Uchikawa, Yutaka Awano, and Yukio Kisanuki of the rookie class. Slowly growing into his boots, Uchikawa looked the most polished of his team -- despite still feeling the effects of the Ninth Gate's tag team finisher. Tonight however, it would be Yutaka Awano's unfortunate fate to suffer the Apocalypse Now, which gave the "Invaders Alliance" the win.

Repeating their actions from last night, LEGION left their mark by draping their emblem over Awano's body. The interplay between Shino and the LEGION members was particular interesting, as he seemed to keep his distance...

* Opening the show was Tsutomu Nishioka -- the rookie slowly gaining popularity for his body, and love of pink shorts -- facing the large Enforcer of SPIRIT International, Sean King. Nishioka actually shined in the opening moments of the match due to his speed and smaller size. For the first few minutes, he pelted King with blows, before ultimately catching King with a boot to the face after causing the big man to chase him into the corner. However, the sad reality of the situation came crashing onto Nishioka as his Missile Kick from the top rope had no effect on the broad, beefy body of Sean King! Once he got his hands on the rookie, King was able to put Nishioka away with an array of moves relying heavy on raw power. After having his fun with Nishioka, King finished him with a swift lariat!
