As we march
one step towards the fated 4/17 date in Osaka, the events leading up to this
historic event continue to send reverbing shockwaves throughout the country!
This after noon, television cameras and members of the media quickly responded to
a text alert sent out by the leader of Hybrid Corps ARMADA, the "Gladiator
King" Kenji Tanamura. The text simply listed the address of the
world-renown Steel Wind dojo.
The media were reportedly confused upon arriving to the private training facility, where they were promptly refused entry by the dojo representatives. Within minutes however, Kenji Tanamura had arrived. He was alone however, as he brought with him his willing soldiers from ARMADA: Yuichi Miwa, Harumi Sakai, Yusaku Kitajima, and newest recruit -- the KJPW-trained Yukio Kisanuki.

"INOUE!
I'M HERE!" Tanamura bellowed, in front of at least a dozen snapping
cameras. While his familiars remained stoic in their demeanor, their mentor
unleashed a side rarely seen by the public. This was not the usual diplomatic
ambassador to all combat sports. With every passing, unanswered second,
Tanamura showed more and more frustration. Tanamura would occasionally stop his
frantic pacing to directly address the media, calling Inoue a "coward,
hiding behind a wall." Finally, eying the aged wood sign board hanging
above the door displaying the very name of the prestigious dojo, Tanamura began
trying to REMOVE it! Tanamura cracked up the group of reporters, "THANK
YOU FOR THE FIRE WOOD, ASAKINO-SAMA!"
This finally
got the full attention of the Steel Wind Dojo as two students quickly came out
to reprimand Tanamura. However, the moment one touched Tanamura, the members of
ARMADA quickly disposed of the strong, but inexperienced rookies! As Tanamura
continued to wrestle the sign from its position, an older representative
finally ran out, politely asking Tanamura to cease, along with extending an
invitation to enter. Unfortunately
however, the invitation was not extended to the media...
Many
reporters felt discouraged, and contemplated leaving. However, a loud commotion
could suddenly be heard emanating from the Steel Wind Dojo! Within moments, the
doors suddenly swung open violently as all five members of ARMADA stormed out.
Tanamura noticeable was sporting noticeable swelling around his left cheek.
More noticeable however was the ear-to-ear grin on his face. With the doors
still open, cameras briefly caught a glimpse of Ryo Inoue himself, wearing his
traditional kimono and hakama, with what appeared to be soy sauce and tea
covered over the front. "TANAMURA! YOU'VE ASKED FOR YOUR OWN DEATH! ...THANK YOU!" Inoue shouted
defiantly, before cuing his familiars to shut the door.
Of all five
ARMADA members, Harumi Sakai appeared most animated as he paced back and forth
angrily, prompting his sensei to finally attempt to calm him down... While the
reporters were utterly confused over what had transpired, Tanamura recanted the
events, as they are most significant.
While not
going into exactly what was said, Tanamura stated that the war between Hybrid
Corps ARMADA and Total Attack Puroresu will begin on April 17 in
Osaka. While still unsure himself of Inoue's exact motives, Tanamura said that
the chance to fight Ryo Inoue was something he could never turn down. Thus, the
two factions will put the reputation of their respective dojos up in an
eight-man tag team bout, pitting Tanamura, Miwa, Sakai, and Kitajima against
Inoue and three disciples of his choosing. Tanamura stated that a singles bout
appeared to be an impossibility at this point, but said 4/17 would be the first
step towards that incredible Dream Match.
When asked
about his swollen jaw, Tanamura laughed and said "He didn't not appreciate
me declining his invitation to tea." The mention of the incident appeared
to get under Sakai's skin. "Sakai-kun was perhaps too overzealous, but
he... offered Inoue's hakama some tea,"
Tanamura continued to joke. Tanamura added further insult with a short bow
towards the dojo. "Please forward all laundry expenses to Kenji Tanamura!"
